Petri dishes

Petri dishes are shallow, round containers used in microbiology to culture and observe microorganisms. They are usually made of glass or sterile plastic and filled with agar-based culture media to support microbial growth. There are several types of Petri dishes, including disposable plastic dishes for routine laboratory use, reusable glass dishes for sterilizable applications, vented dishes that allow air exchange to prevent condensation, and non-vented dishes used for anaerobic conditions.
